Description of Product
The pressuremeter test is an in-situ testing method that provides a quick measurement of the stress-strain relationship of soil. It works by applying pressure to the sidewalls of a borehole and measuring the resulting deformation. The system consists of a read-out unit at the ground surface and a probe inserted into the borehole. As pressure increases, the borehole walls deform. Pressure is held constant for a set period, and the volume change required to maintain that pressure is recorded. From the applied pressure and volume change data, a stress-strain curve is obtained, yielding the Ménard Pressuremeter modulus, creep pressure, and Ménard limit pressure.
